Location, location, location. Here we are again talking about one of the many location based networks, but one that is arguably in the top 3. One of Gowalla's point features has always been the built-in trips, lists of related places you can visit, then mark as done. Until now, trips were created and curated by the Gowalla staff, but as of this week, users can create trips of up to 20 spots and publish them for all the world to see. Once the trip has been published, it's set, and users can't edit it any further. Trips that are really good will even get their own artwork to go along with the trip.
This is a great leg-up for Gowalla in the location wars. It's going to come down to these specific features to differentiate between all the entries in the location space. Gowalla's attention to detail has been evident from the get-go with their arguably more polished interface, stamps and pins. Head to Gowalla or fire it up on your iPhone (Android and WebOS apps are on the way)
