Foursquare Teams With Bravo In A Location Wars Coup

Foursquare is teaming up with Bravo TV to bring new badges corresponding to Bravo shows. Checking into one of 500 Foursquare venues that are now tagged as a Bravo location will reward a player with a Bravo-themed badge, depending on the venue. The locations will correspond to a few of Bravo's more popular franchises like "Top Chef", "Real Housewives", and "Millionaire Matchmaker" (No "Flipping Out". Dang.).
While this is great for Foursquare, I don't think anyone is surprised. Location is HAWT right now, so this seems like a natural, smart move. It's also definitely a coup for Foursquare in the Location Wars, not for their feature-set, but for their exposure. Even though, other services may have legs-up on Foursquare, the can't seem to shake the media coverage which, any way you cut it, is great.
So, yes, this is great for Foursquare, but I think this particular partnership speaks more to Bravo's team than to any involved. This speaks volumes about their digital strategy team, and how willing they are to embrace new tactics. If the rest of Viacom could take a page out of Bravo's book, the aging media titan might be able to retain its rank during this digital shift.
