The Saga Of The iPhone HD

via GizmodoOn Saturday the 17th of April, Engadget posted hands-on images of a purported iPhone 4G or HD (for the sake of clarity, I'm going to refer to the device as the iPhone HD for the rest of this article). Not too long after, they posted a familiar image we saw just before the iPad announcement: a leaked photo from what appeared to be an Apple test lab pictured an iPad in an odd black bumper case, and an iPhone sitting on top of it. Upon further inspection, Engadget editors realized that off to the side, there was what appeared to be an iPhone that looked just the same as the one they'd just held. After realizing the iPhone HD that had been floating around had, at one point, been disguised as an iPhone 3GS, the assumption was also made that the iPhone on top of the iPad was indeed the very same iPhone HD.
